Indoorway

Chief Technology Officer (CTO) · Indoorway

Period: December 2015 – September 2019

Co-designed the distributed architecture of a Real-Time Location System (RTLS) platform, enabling precise tracking of assets and personnel inside industrial facilities, warehouses, and office environments.

Participated in the implementation of indoor positioning systems leveraging data fusion from Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), Wi-Fi Fingerprinting, and Ultra-Wideband (UWB) radio technologies, ensuring reliability in industrial settings.

Co-developed a custom indoor mapping engine for 2D/3D building plans, integrating and optimizing advanced geospatial libraries including MapBox, OpenLayers, Leaflet, and custom vector canvases.

Led the creation and daily operations of a cross-functional engineering team (JavaScript, Swift, Kotlin, Python, Ruby on Rails), establishing framework-agnostic frontend standards.

Managed the AWS cloud infrastructure, low-latency streaming of high-volume geolocation data, enterprise-grade data security protocols, and recruitment/onboarding pipelines.

Co-organized the Campus App Challenge hackathon promoting the Indoorway APIs, which was won by an app assisting disabled students, leading to coverage in the global technology media outlet TechCrunch.

Technologies used: TypeScript, Node.js, PostgreSQL, Ruby on Rails, Python, React, Angular, Vue, MapBox, OpenLayers, Leaflet, Bluetooth (BLE), Wi-Fi Positioning, UWB (Ultra-Wideband), Docker, AWS
